Govt. forms committee to review and revise property base rates

The government has formed a committee under the leadership of the Revenue Secretary to evaluate, analyse, and revise the base rates for various categories of land and built-up properties. This committee will be active for two years, holding quarterly meetings to review progress and analyse current market trends to propose revised base rates for land.


In addition to reviewing property rates, the committee will provide recommendations to improve the state’s revenue collection and streamline the ease of doing business in the Registration Department. It will also suggest guidelines and formulas for calculating rates for different types of land and buildings.


Key officials on the committee include the Collector of North Goa, Collector of South Goa, Director of Settlement & Land Records, State Registrar from the Registration Department, Chief Town Planner, Principal Chief Engineer from the Public Works Department, and Director of Panchayats among other officials.
