PANAJI

Industries Minister Mauvin Godinho has stated that the State government will implement a new policy to improve the living conditions of labourers working in industrial areas.

Speaking at the CII Conference on logistics in Panaji today, the minister revealed the policy will focus on creating designated accommodations for workers to ensure they have access to safe and hygienic living spaces. This move is part of a broader effort to enhance the welfare of labourers and improve the overall industrial environment.

The minister also encouraged industries to continue their businesses in Goa, emphasizing the State’s welcoming atmosphere. He stated Goa offers not only a business-friendly environment but also numerous enjoyable activities for workers and visitors alike.

"The people of Goa are known for their friendliness, and the relaxing atmosphere adds to the appeal of doing business in the state. Let us promote goodness among the people," he added, inviting industries to thrive while enjoying the unique charm of Goa.

Godinho further spoke on the ongoing issue of coal dust pollution in the Mormugao Port area assuring that the under-construction dome at the port will effectively solve the problem, benefiting both businesses and local residents. "It's a win-win situation for all," he said, expressing confidence that the project will resolve concerns related to coal dust in the region.
