Announces free solar power pumps

The State government on Thursday announced a 75 per cent subsidy for installation of rooftop solar plants and free of cost solar power pumps for irrigation to scheduled tribe and scheduled caste communities.
The government also announced that all government departments and aided school buildings will be installed with 30 MW solar rooftops through PPP and launch of Virtual Net Metering project in government schools.
Besides, a 5 MW floating membrane solar power plant and a 100 MW wind power plant are also under consideration of the government.
The State Budget 2024-25, which has allocated Rs 62.94 crore towards the New and Renewable Energy Department, has proposed to come up with a new scheme. As per the scheme, the SC and ST people will have to shell out 25 per cent cost for solar rooftops. They would be also provided with free solar power pumps for irrigation purpose.

Not just this but the government proposes to install free solar street lights in their residential areas for public use.
As the government notified the modified EV subsidy scheme, a budgetary provision of Rs 25 crore has been made towards the scheme and its related infrastructure.
The government also proposes to implement the Green Hydrogen Scheme through GEDA this year.
