PANAJI: Four persons, including a beach shack owner, have been arrested in connection with the murder of a tourist during an altercation at Marina Shack on Calangute Beach around 1 am today.
Shacks owner Agnel Silveria (64), his son Shubert (23); and two workers Anil Bista (24) and Kamal Sunar (23), both hailing from Nepal and residing in Calangute are arrested for murder under Section 103, section 118 (causing hurt or grievous injuries using dangerous weapons) and 324(3) (committing mischief leading to loss or damage of property) read with Section 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS Act, 2023.
SP North Akshat Kaushal informed that the incident occurred around 1 am when a dispute over placing a food order escalated into a violent confrontation.
According to the complaint filed by Spandan Bollu, a resident of Hyderabad, Telangana, the accused attacked Ravi Teja, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, with wooden sticks and physical blows. "The victim sustained a head injury and later succumbed to his injuries," the SP said.
