Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai recognised and honoured NCC cadets from Goa who took part in the Republic Day Camp 2025 in New Delhi.
He praised the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from the Karnataka and Goa Directorate for their outstanding performance. He said India’s military has a long history of bravery and sacrifice and continues to play a key role in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and integrity.
The Governor also highlighted the Directorate’s achievement in winning the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner for 2024-25 in the Republic Day Banner Competition.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, he stressed the importance of the NCC in shaping disciplined and motivated youth with leadership qualities. “The NCC aims to create a group of organised, trained, and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life,” he said.
From Goa, PO Cadet Tuhin Saha (Shree Damodar College, Margao), PO Cadet Shriditya Sawant (GS Amonkar Vidya Mandir, Mapusa) from 1 Goa Naval Unit, and SUO Vedant Chandekar (St Xavier’s College, Mapusa) from 1 Goa Battalion, Panaji, participated in the 2024-25 Republic Day parade.
The Governor presented certificates to the participating NCC cadets.
Earlier, Deputy Director General SB Arun Kumar welcomed the guests and announced that the Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate had won the PM Banner for 2024-25.
