PANAJI: A meeting to strengthen the efficiency and compliance of guard duties was convened by IRBn Commandant Ezilda F. D'Souza with Deputy Superintendents of Police and Police Inspectors of IRBn.

During the session, Commandant D'Souza emphasized the need for regular and strict guard checks to ensure compliance with protocols. Officers were directed to brief guards on key responsibilities, including proper compliments, weapons handling, areas of responsibility, and maintaining turnout standards.

The meeting comes a week after IRB constable Amit Naik facilitated land fraudster Suleman Siddique Khan's escape from the lock-up at Crime Branch, Ribandar. While Naik surrendered thereafter and is also dismissed from service, Suleman remains at large

Following the meeting, the Superintendent of Police, along with DySP Naresh Mangadkar and the Police Inspector of IRBn, conducted an inspection of various VIP guards to assess their preparedness and adherence to protocols, ensuring the safety and security of VIPs and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
