PANAJI: The Goa Haj Committee has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed several innocent tourists. Chairman Urfan Mulla called the attack "inhuman and un-Islamic," emphasizing that Islam does not permit the killing of innocents.
"This was a barbaric act that goes against the values of our religion and our nation. It sends the wrong message to the world, and we condemn it in the strongest terms," Mulla said.
He stressed that Indian Muslims stand with the country and support any action taken to hold Pakistan accountable. "We back our government, our army, and our leadership. Indian Muslims will always stand with India," he added.
Mulla also recalled the pivotal role of former Defence Minister and Goa Chief Minister, the late Manohar Parrikar, in strategizing surgical strikes. "The message is clear: terrorism will not be tolerated, and India will respond strongly," he said.
The Committee has extended its full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts against terrorism and called for a boycott of entities linked to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, in response to the Pahalgam attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered the revocation of Pakistani visas and directed Chief Ministers to identify and send back Pakistani nationals residing in India. A meeting on the Indus Water Treaty is scheduled for this evening.
