The Kala Academy Goa has declared the results of the 49th State Art Exhibition (Student Category), recognising outstanding talent across various art disciplines.
Mohit Kamlesh Vishwakarma won first prize in the Painting and Graphic Print section, while Dilkhush Datta Gurav secured the top spot in the Applied and Graphic Design section. Yagnya D. Redkar was awarded first prize in the Sculpture section. The winners were selected by a panel of judges comprising Kirtikumar Prabhu, Pradeep Naik, and Radhima Jogle Naik.
In the Painting and Graphic Print section, the second and third prizes were awarded to Noah Hayden Fernandes and Samruddhi V. Kerkar, respectively. In the Applied Art and Graphic Design section, Riya Vishant Mashelkar secured second place, followed by Shruti Shrinivas Nayak in third place. In the Sculpture section, Mohit Kamlesh Vishwakarma bagged the second prize, while Unik Ramchandra Chari secured third place.
Special prizes were also awarded, with Salil Saidas Velip receiving the Goa Hindu Association-sponsored prize in memory of artist Late Raoji V. Gaunekar, and Lakshita Pednekar being honoured with the Late Hanumant B. Neugi Memorial Prize.
The Kala Academy has been organising the State Art Exhibition for the past 48 years. This year, a total of 170 works were submitted across the three sections, out of which 103 have been selected for display.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Wednesday at 4:30 pm by Arvind Khutkar, Member Secretary of Kala Academy Goa. Art enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the exhibition, which will be open to the public until 17th March 2025, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Art Gallery, Kala Academy Goa. Details of the prize distribution ceremony will be announced at a later date.
