Avani Anil Gad was on Monday elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Kasarvarne.
The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of Sarpanch Navnath Naik. All five members of the Kasarvarne Panchayat, former sarpanch Navnath Naik, deputy sarpanch Sakshi Bhisaji, panch Sonam Parab and Vrishali Nail, were present at the election. Gad was the only person to file his nomination and was elected unopposed.
Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar later congratulated the newly elected sarpanch in the presence of other panchas.
