MARGAO

Kiosk owners operating from the Margao KTC bus shelter had to face double trouble on account of the Viksit Bharat Viksit Goa rally held at the bus stand on Tuesday.

While the kiosks were shut down on account of the rally, the owners have now realized that the power supply to the stalls have been hit because of alleged damaged to the underground power cable.

In fact, power linesmen were on the job to provide connections through overhead conductors as a stop gap arrangement till the underground cable fault is detected and rectified.

It is suspected that the underground cable must have been left damaged during the work of laying of pavers on the area abutting the main road.

While suspecting underground power cable fault behind the power failure faced by the stalls, a senior power official said the department has arranged connections through overhead conductors. Saying the department will try to detect the damage to the underground cable, the officer said the work may involve digging the newly-laid pavers at the site.
