MARGAO: The Konkan Railway Police, Margao has apprehended accused Bibi Jan Shaikh (54) from Hubballi, Karnataka, for her alleged involvement in the theft of gold ornaments at Margao Railway Station.
During the investigation, the accused has reportedly confessed to the crime, leading to the recovery of 60.050 grams of stolen gold worth ₹4.4 lakhs in melted form from a jeweler in Hubballi.
Further investigation has revealed her involvement in similar theft cases in Karnataka. The accused has been remanded to five days of police custody by the JMFC Margao.
This operation was executed by the KRPS team led by PI Sunil Gudlar, with PC Mohammed Hussain, PC Manjunath, and LPC Manisha Velip, under the supervision of DySP KRPS Nilesh Rane and overall supervision of SP Harishchandra Madkaikar.
