The Goa Sikh Youth (GSY) has sought the disclosure of the person who complained against the Langar they had put up at Old Goa on the Feast Day, due to which the Langar had to be stopped for some time.
Speaking to reporters at Azad Maidan-Panaji on Monday, GSY President Sandeep Sartaj said that since the incident occurred, he has been receiving calls from all over to know what exactly happened and who complained against them.
“In fact, the first time we had put up the Langar on November 27 and everything went well with people appreciating us,” Sartaj informed.
“But, on the Feast Day (December 3), we were told by Old Goa police that we need to shut down the Langar as a complaint has been received and there was pressure for higher-ups but we were not told who complained and who were these higher-ups,” he stated.
“As we were dismantling the structure put up for the Langar, the public rallied behind us and then the Langar was continued by the volunteers led by locals Ana Gracias and Arturo D’Souza,” Sartaj informed and said that the incident got viral on the social media.
“Since then, I am getting calls to explain exactly what happened. And not only us, but everybody wants clarification on the person who complained against the Langar and why,” Sartaj stated while demanding that the name of the person who complained should be disclosed.
