Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has proposed to earmark Rs 100 crore for infrastructure projects for each MLA's constituency from the 2025-26 financial year onwards.
"From this financial year, each MLA will be given approvals for infrastructure projects proposed through various departments in their constituencies worth up to Rs 100 crore," Sawant said in his budget speech.
Later during the press conference he addressed along with Chief Secretary V Candavelou after presenting the budget, Sawant elaborated that the MLAs will have to co-ordinate with the departments involved in the projects they propose.
"Also, it will only be for infrastructure projects entailing capital expenditure," Sawant clarified.
