Leona Lewis has been dropped from Island Record, but Universal music executives are hoping to keep her within their group by signing her with one of their different labels. The Bleeding Love singer signed with Island Records, which is part of Universal, after parting ways with Simon Cowell's company Syco in 2014. With Island, she released her fifth album I Am last year (15), but the record failed to make the U.K. top 10 chart, and sold only 8,500 copies in its first week. "It simply didn't work out with Island," a source said . "She made a great record and the label really championed her but something just didn't click."
