Locals booked for trespassing at electricity quarters in Vasco

The Mormugao Police have registered an offence against multiple individuals for allegedly trespassing into government property and obstructing officials from carrying out their lawful duties at Electricity Quarters, Bogda-Vasco.

In his complaint, Electricity Department Executive Engineer Kashinath Shetye stated that the incident had occurred on February 28 at 8.30 AM, when some persons are alleged to have criminally trespassed into the property under the possession of the electricity department at the electricity quarters.

Shetye said he and his team were engaged in construction work to close one of the four pathways within the property when the accused allegedly obstructed them from performing their official duties. The accused reportedly prevented the construction of a compound wall, resulting in an estimated financial loss of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Furthermore, the complaint states that the accused incited the general public, allegedly provoking them with the intent to cause a riot.

Following the complaint, Mormugao Police registered an offence under Sections 329, 221, 126, 192, and 324(5) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case is currently under investigation, led by PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao Police Station, under the supervision of PI Dheeraj Devidas and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
