Locals in some parts of Usgao have been hit by acute water shortage in the past few days.
According to sources, tap water is sometimes released at midnight forcing the locals to remain awake to get water.
A contractor provides water through a tanker to non-Goan workers living about 300-400 metres away at a site and locals are seen going to that spot to bring water late in the night.
Local panch Manisha Usgaonkar has supplied two water tankers to the affected areas at her own expenses. Residents have demanded that the PWD sends water tankers to all affected areas.
