Addressing the media on Saturday, Shigmostav Samiti president Babesh Borkar informed that the Lok Kala Sanz will have special presentation of Mando by Uzvadachim Kirna from Shingale Ponsulem, Diwali Nritya by Kala Mogi Khotiganvkar from Khotigao, Kankonchi Nakshatra by Dekhni, Guru Kala Shilp Sangh Canacona by Arti Kolambkar and Dhalo by Durga Devi Mahila Mandal, Shristhal.
The Lok Kala Sanz will also present fugadi from 10 different groups from all over the taluka.

Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, the director of art and culture, CMC Chairperson, Sarpanchas of all the 7 Panchayats of Canacona (Agonda, Khola, Shristhal, Gaondongrim, Khotigao, Poinguinim and Loliem-Polem), besides all the Councillors of CMC will be present for programme on Sunday as well as the Shigmostav Parade on Tuesday.
Speaking further, Borkar said it is unfortunate that the Shigmostav Parades especially Romtamel and Chitrarath are held until the wee hours of next day. “The float parade at Canacona on March 25 will begin by 5 pm in all probability and will strictly end by 11 pm.
“Parents along with their children come to watch these floats and if they don’t get an opportunity to watch them, what is the use of holding these events. School exams are going on and people should return home by 11pm. So, the committee has resolved to strictly adhere to the timings,” said Borkar.
When informed that a few Romtamel do not perform perform only on reaching the stage and not along the route, Shigmostav Samiti Secretary Anil Faldessai said a panel of judges would be stationed at three spots. “For the benefit of participants who complain of a long route in Canacona, the route is now shortened by 700 metres and instead of culminating at the usual spot near Dy Collectorate, the parade will wind up at KTC Bus stand. Participants will have to perform along entire route to be eligible for the prizes,” stated CMC chairperson.
