The crew on board a barge had a luck escape when a barge sank at the Pali-Kothambi jetty.
According to reports, the incident took place as transportation of e-auctioned ore was taking place.
As ore was being loaded on a barge at the jetty in Tishem, Pali-Kothambi, the vessel developed a crack and water began to enter into the barge.
The crew then jumped into the river and swam to safety. The barge sank into the river sometime later.
At present, efforts are underway to remove the barge from the river.
