MAPUSA:
Mapusa police have arrested a man for allegedly harassing a minor girl on a bus at the Mapusa bus stand on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 3 pm when the minor victim, a school student, was on her way home.
While she was seated in a parked bus, the accused, identified as Dickson Lobo, reportedly sat beside her and behaved inappropriately, allegedly attempting to touch her and outraging her modesty.
Following the incident, the Mapusa police promptly registered an offense under relevant sections of the Goa Children’s Act, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, and the BNS Act, 2023. Lobo was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Police officials stated that further investigation into the case is underway.
