PONDA:
Ponda police have registered a case against a man from Ponda on charges of obtaining an income certificate with the forged signature of the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Chief Officer Yogiraj Gosavi.
PMC employees had found that Sadanand Prabhugavakar, who had applied for an income certificate, had allegedly attached a fake income certificate. They brought it to the attention of PMC Chief Officer Yogiraj Gosavi, and it was ascertained that the signature on the certificate was fake.
Gosavi then filed a complaint in this regard at the Ponda police station and acting on the complaint, Ponda police registered a case on Wednesday night and it is likely that a case will be registered against more people. Ponda PSI Ashish Velip is conducting further investigation under the guidance of Police Inspector Vijaynath Kavlekar.
