PANAJI
Manipal Hospital Goa, in partnership with the River Navigation Department, Mohan Foundation, and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa, organised a special river cruise from Panaji to Old Goa. This initiative aimed to give dialysis patients a refreshing break from their routine, lifting their spirits and improving their well-being.
The cruise along the Mandovi River provided a peaceful and enjoyable experience, allowing participants to take in Goa’s beautiful waterways. More than just a leisure trip, it created a sense of community, helping patients connect with others who share similar experiences. The relaxing environment and friendly interactions contributed to their emotional and mental well-being.
Healthcare professionals on board engaged with the patients, offering guidance and support, highlighting the importance of overall care beyond medical treatment. A fun session with games and activities brought smiles to everyone and encouraged bonding among participants. This gathering also gave patients a chance to share their experiences and offer encouragement to one another.
After the cruise, the group gathered at the Pastoral Institute, St. Pius, where they enjoyed a hearty breakfast, hosted by Fr. Candido Fernandes, Director of the institute. The Mohan Foundation arranged the meal.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amol Mahaldar, Lead Consultant - Nephrology and Transplant Physician at Manipal Hospital Goa, stated, “At Manipal Hospital Goa, we believe healing goes beyond medical treatment. This river cruise offered patients a chance to unwind, connect, and find hope. We thank the River Navigation Department, Mohan Foundation, and IMA Goa for making this initiative possible.”
The event was a reminder that true healing goes beyond medicine—it includes emotional support, community care, and shared experiences.
Manipal Hospital Goa sincerely thanks its partners and participants for making this initiative a meaningful and memorable success.
