Auxiliary Bishop of Maputo (Moçambique) Dom Tonito Francisco Xavier Muananoua on Monday encouraged Goans to his diocese and to work among the people there.
He was addressing a gathering after releasing the Parish News Bulletin, ‘PAUNDDE/STEPS’ at the Panaji Church, in the presence of Parish Priest Fr Walter de Sa and other concelebrants.
Bishop Muananoua offered Mass in English for the first time since his ordination as a priest and later interacted with the parishioners.
He was happy to know that families in Goa still speak Portuguese and some children learn also Portuguese language for better prospects.
Bishop Muananoua encouraged people to come to his diocese and work among the people. He also invited priests to do pastoral work on exchange basis between Goan priests and priests from his diocese. He added that a priest from Delhi Archdiocese is rendering pastoral ministry in his diocese.
He also lauded the Goan community living in Maputo.
