Comunidade president, attorney visit site, find vehicle unloading debris at Borda property

The Comunidade of Margao has knocked the doors of the Fatorda Police to register an FIR against a person for dumping construction debris, mud, rubbles in the comunidade property at Housing Board, Gogol-Margao.
Acting on information that construction debris is being dumped on the comunidade property, Margao Comunidade president Savio Correia along with Attorney Celestin Noronha conducted an inspection and found to their surprise a vehicle unloading building and construction debris, including broken asbestos sheets, glass pieces, mud etc in the property.
After Correia called up the flying squad about the waste dumping, a team of police personnel descended at the property and told the vehicle owners to stop the dumping activity and to drive the vehicle to the police station.
In his complaint, Attorney Celestin pointed out that the vehicle owner had illegally trespassed into the comunidade land and committed mischief by knowingly and willfully caused damage to the property, destroyed, and diminished its value and utility, and thereby causing undue loss and damage to the Comunidade of Margao.
Asserting that illegal dumping of building debris at non-designated places also constitutes an offence punishable under the Goa Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1996, the Comunidade Attorney has urged the police to register an FIR against the person and initiate appropriate proceedings against him.
