Smoke billowing out from the drains in the old fish market area of Margao on Wednesday morning gave some anxious moments to the citizens and fire personnel alike.
Realisation later dawned that the smoke originated in the basement of a hotel after a fire engulfed an electric panel. Fire Officer Gill D’Souza informed that the fire personnel were quick to extinguish the fire before any major damage could be done to the hotel premises.
