Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Sunday morning performed the Bhumi Pujan for the construction of a new Brahman Devasthan at New Vaddem in the presence of Vasco MLA Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, municipal councillors Vinod Kinlekar, Yatin Kamurlekar and other residents.
Speaking to media later , Godinho said that prayers were like wireless messages to God. "I am very happy that I have got a chance to perform the " Shilanyas " ( Foundation Stone ) programme for the construction of a new Brahman Temple at New Vaddem. This place was the first religious place in entire New Vaddem and all the other temples came up later. This " Rashtroli Brahman " temple has a great religious significance and this is a very conscious deity because many prayers have been answered here," said Godinho.
"The construction of a new temple in the area indicates a rise in faith, devotion and belief of the people and I always say that prayers are like a wireless system with God. We are planning to construct a new " Brahman Devasthan " temple here and all the people must contribute to it. It is not only me and Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar who should take the lead but every person must come forward to unitedly help in the construction of a new temple," said Godinho.
