CANACONA
Floods, minor landslides, overflowing rivers and uprooting of trees have affected life in many parts of Canacona since Thursday night.
The Canacona Fire Services attended to five different calls regarding the uprooting of trees and blocking of roads in Gaondongrim, Galgibaga, Nagorcem, Poinguinim and Shrishthal.
Water logging and floods were reported at Patnem and Palolem, with municipal workers toiling to clear the water.
Due to continuous rainfall, minor landslides were reported in some parts of the taluka, while a landslide was behind one house in Agonda and threatened the safety of its inmates.
All the water bodies, including the three major rivers in Canacona, were flowing dangerously over the warning mark, while water gushed into every low-lying area adjacent to the river banks.
