With temperatures soaring, Vasco MLA Krishna (Daji) Salkar has appealed to residents to place bowls of clean water outside their homes and shops to provide relief to stray animals suffering from dehydration and heatstroke.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Salkar emphasised the importance of showing compassion towards animals struggling to cope with the extreme heat.
“As the days grow warmer, the rising temperatures bring a challenge for our voiceless companions – the stray animals around us. Dogs, cats, birds, and even cows often struggle to find a source of fresh water during these hot days,” he said.
Salkar appealed to the community to take a simple yet meaningful step to help these animals. “Let us all come together as a community and extend a simple act of compassion. By placing a small bowl or container filled with clean water outside our homes, shops, and in accessible social spaces, we can offer these creatures a respite from the heat,” he added.
Highlighting the impact of this initiative, he stated, “This small gesture can make a big difference in their lives, saving them from dehydration and heatstroke.”
Salkar’s appeal has been welcomed by animal lovers and local residents, who have expressed their willingness to participate in the initiative.
