After clearing the rot that had set in at the famous spring, the Margao MLA has promised that work will get underway soon at the site which will help restore the pristine glory of Talsanzor. Kamat recalled his childhood days when he used to come for a bath at the spring with his father.

“Talsanzor has been famous in the past, with people especially coming for a bath as they believed that the spring water contained medicinal properties,” he said.

Saying that he had brought about a turnaround to Talsanzor when the Ana Fonte garden was restored to its pristine glory, Kamat said famous city-based architect Sarto Almeida was specially roped in to plan the beautification of Talsanzor.

The Margao MLA pointed out that he has spoken to the Water Resources Department officials on the restoration of Talsanzor, saying an architect will soon be appointed on an honorary basis to plan the beautification.

Teachers at Moti Dongor govt school asked to teach students in Konkani

MARGAO:

Margao MLA Digambar Kamat on Friday suggested to the teachers attached to the Moti Dongor government primary school as well as parents to teach the students in Konkani so that they also become eligible for jobs.

The Margao MLA descended at Moti Dongor on Friday morning to address the young students to commemorate the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Kamat realized that the primary school students are not well versed in Konkani when they told him that they will be comfortable if he addresses them in Hindi.

Kamat wondered why the children cannot understand Konkani when they have been inhabiting the area for years now.

He then requested the teachers to ensure that the students are also being taught in Konkani saying they will not be eligible for jobs if they do not know Konkani.

The Margao MLA also urged the inhabitants to emulate the work of Babasaheb Ambedkar saying that Moti Dongor will be free from violence and other activities if the citizens follow Ambedkar’s teachings.
