Cuncolim MLA Yuri Alemao assured the people of Chandor on Monday that the heritage village will be developed in a pristine manner, while launching hot-mixing works in the village.
The Leader of the Opposition stated that the hot-mixing work would be a significant step towards improving transportation infrastructure in the region. “This asphalting will provide a safe and smooth ride for vehicular traffic, improving connectivity and facilitating easier travel. We are carrying out these works across the constituency so that people do not face issues during the monsoon,” Alemao said.
He emphasised the special importance of Chandor, stating that developing it as a heritage village would showcase Goa’s rich history. “This will attract tourists, researchers, and scholars to our village, helping us put Chandor on the world map,” Alemao added, stating that he is actively following up on the heritage village project.
He further stated that the free Wi-Fi hotspot launched in Chandor has already benefited the student community and others. “We have many such projects in the pipeline that will benefit our locals. In the future, we will have a police station and other projects, along with a facelift for the children’s park,” Alemao said.
