Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira met with KTC Chairman Ulhas Tuenkar and Managing Director Pundalik Khorjuvenkar to discuss issues with irregular bus services in the constituency.
Ferreira, with local panchayat members, presented concerns, highlighting that KTC buses often skip designated stops, including Calvim’s last stop. He also raised issues with the unreliable Ambadi bus service on the Merciana-Carona route and called for its restoration.
Locals requested an afternoon bus on the Mapusa-Xell-Paliem route and mini-buses for the Panaji-Britona-Ecoxim-Pomburpa stretch.
They also sought regular morning and afternoon services for Ecoxim, Pomburpa, and Olaulim, focusing on student transport on the Mapusa-Pomburpa route.
A morning service connecting Ecoxim-Pomburpa-Olaulim to Aldona was also requested. Locals proposed introducing mini-buses on the Ecoxim-Pomburpa route to address infrastructure constraints.
Another significant proposal was for a circular route connecting Mapusa-Bastora-Ucassaim-PHC-Carona-Aldona-Nachinola-Moira-Mapusa, along with a two-way service linking Ecoxim and Aldona.
KTC officials assured Ferreira they would address the issues promptly.
