Says airport has provided 1,200 jobs to locals

Describing the Manohar International Airport (MIA) at Mopa as the highest revenue earning project of the State, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the airport has provided 1,200 jobs to locals and locals would get jobs in future.
Sawant was addressing the media after visiting the MIA on Wednesday and he was accompanied by Union Minister Shripad Naik, State BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, Pernem MLA Pravin Arlekar, Mayem MLA Premendra Shet, former MLA Dayanand Sopte and others.
Speaking further, Sawant said a new police station would be set up at Mandrem.
The CM said that the central government had spent Rs 30,000 crore on various projects in Goa and these projects would help in the financial growth of the State.
“Goa is progressing on all fronts, education, industry, tourism, healthcare facilities and other sectors,” he said.
The CM’s visit in Pernem was a part of the party’s efforts to reach out to the public in all constituencies with the list of projects and development works done by the BJP government in the State.
