Museum on life & legacy of Shivaji Maharaj to be built in Goa

PANAJI: The Goa Government has announced its ambitious plan to develop a Digital Museum showcasing the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Farmagudi in Ponda taluka.

In his opening address to the House, Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai informed about the government proposal for which Rs 97.46cr central funding has been received.

The Governor said that the Museum aims to bring the life and legacy of the great Maratha king into the modern era, enriching the patriotic spirit among visitors. 

"The digital museum aims to bring the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to modern Era which will help to educate, inspire, captivate and to enrich patriotic attitude among visiting population," he said. 

As reported earlier, the museum will feature attractions such as an augmented reality room, holograms, virtual reality displays, a 5D theatre, and interactive exhibits. 

It will also house a war costume gallery, a boat gallery, and a replica of the Saptakoteshwar Stambh. Additionally, the site will include a yoga pavilion, horse trails, a light and sound show, a souvenir shop, and cafes.
