In a significant step towards improving power supply infrastructure, a new 100 kVA transformer has been installed at Vollant in Pomburpa, bringing much-needed relief to the residents.
The transformer, which has been set up at a cost of approximately Rs 25 lakh, is expected to address long-standing issues of power fluctuations and supply interruptions in the area.
The initiative has been welcomed by the local community, as they have been grappling with frequent power failures, low voltage, and appliance damage due to an inconsistent electricity supply.
Residents had been demanding a transformer for several years, and its installation marks a crucial milestone in strengthening the electricity network in Pomburpa.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the transformer, Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira emphasised the significance of this development in improving the quality of life for residents.
“People used to complain of frequent power interruptions, and their demands for a transformer have been long-standing. This new facility will provide much-needed relief and stability to the power supply in the region,” Ferreira said.
He further announced that another transformer is set to be installed at Golna within the next two months as part of continued efforts to enhance the power infrastructure in Pomburpa.
Additionally, residents have submitted requests for two more transformers to be set up at Zorint and Ecoxim to ensure a more robust and uninterrupted electricity supply in these areas.
According to Ferreira, underground cabling work in the region has been completed, and the newly charged line will play a crucial role in minimising power disruptions.
