MARGAO: Savio D’Silva has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of the Cutband Fisheries Cooperative Society on Wednesday.
Umesh Salgaonkar has been elected the vice-Chairman.
In fact, all the new Board of Directors of the society were elected unopposed in the elections held on Wednesday.
The Director are Dinesh Tari, Rajendra Kerkar, Krishanath Zuvatkar, Caitano Cardozo and Josleen Menezes e D’Silva.
After his election, Savio told the media that the new panel will take everyone into confidence to carry forward the good work done by the outgoing panel headed by Vinay Tari. “We will continue the legacy left behind by the outgoing panel. The new panel will take up with the government the issues plaguing the boat owners operating from the Cutbona fishing jetty”, he said.
