MAPUSA:
Anjuna Police have arrested a Nigerian national on charges of staying in India without valid travel documents.
The accused, identified as Ben Offor (38), a resident of Onitsha, Nigeria was taken into custody from Monterio Waddo, Anjuna, on February 25.
According to police sources, the arrest was made following a routine verification drive conducted to track foreign nationals residing in the area.
Upon checking Offor’s documents, authorities found that he had overstayed in India without the necessary legal permits.
As a result, a case was registered against him under the Foreigner Order, 1948, and the Foreigners Act, 1946, which govern the entry, stay, and movement of foreign nationals in India.
