'No Tillari water for Karnataka, Goa gets 80% water share'

PANAJI:

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has claimed that 80 per cent of water from the Tillari irrigation project is exclusively for Goa while outrightly dismissing Karanataka 's claim for the water share.

He cited the current agreement specifying Goa's rights over this water share besides bearing the maintenance costs for the project.

He also further said that the government has requested MH to raise the height of the Tillari dam, which will help in increasing the water storage capacity in a bid to meet the growing demand of the State.

The statement comes Amid media reports about KA urging MH to share Tillari water.
