The North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) during its meeting held earlier this month adopted the Land Use Map and Land Use Register of the planning area of Panaji (part) and the same has been kept open for inspection by general public.
The planning area also includes the survey numbers of the land from Panaji, Taleigao, Calapur (St Cruz), Merces and Chimbel.
According to the public notice issued by the NGPDA Member Secretary it has been informed that after placing the map before general public and local authorities for objections and suggestions, the Authority in its 92nd Meeting held on November 10 unanimously resolved to adopt the Land Use Map and Land Use Register with some modification in the Land Use Register.
The local MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte and the villagers had raised objections to the TCP department decision of inclusion of entire Penha de Franca village into Panaji planning area. Following the objection, the department had revised the planning area and some pockets of the village were kept out.
