The annual Novena of Grace (Kurpechim Novenam) will be held at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, from March 4 to March 12.
This year, the novena will focus on the theme, “Like St Francis Xavier, let us sow seeds of hope through our lives.”
Daily Masses during the novena will be celebrated in Konkani at 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, and 4 pm, while the English Mass will be held at 6 pm.
On March 5, Ash Wednesday, ashes will be distributed at all the Masses.
Additionally, a special Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel of St Francis Xavier “at the well” at 9 am.
On Sunday, March 9, in addition to the regular schedule, an English Mass will be held at 9.15 am.
The final day of the novena, March 12, will feature a Solemn High Mass in Konkani at 9.15 am, followed by the Penitential Way of the Cross leading to the Rosary Church, near the Santa Monica Convent and Kunji.
A Mass in Konkani will be celebrated at 12 pm at the Rosary Church.
Other devotions during the Novena of Grace include a Meditation and Rosary in Konkani at 5 am, the Way of the Cross in English after the 8 am Mass, and the Konkani Divine Mercy Chaplet followed by the Way of the Cross at 3 pm.
