Old Goa was all set to host the novena and feast of St Francis Xavier which will start from Wednesday.
The masses will be held at 5 am, 6.30 am, 8 am, 9.30 am, 11 am, 12.30 pm, 2 pm, 3.30 pm, 5 pm and 6.15 pm.
When The Goan visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus, it was seen that this year the pandal has been extended with extra seating arrangements being made on both sides of the main stage.
Big screens have been installed on both sides so that the devotees could watch the mass live.
The extended pandal will help in ensuring that social distance is maintained among the devotees and also ensure that more people are accommodated.
The main stage was almost ready with two big screens installed on both sides of the altar.
Apart from that, the police personnel too made their presence at the site as also the fire brigade personnel.
Metal detectors, bunkers and watch towers were also installed to further help the police in smooth conduct of the novena and feast.
Parking arrangements have also been made with the areas marked for parking cleared of the overgrown bushes.
Meanwhile, the fair is also set to make a return after a gap of one year as the vendors were seen giving final touches to their stalls.
However, few stalls like those selling grams and traditional Goan sweets like kadyo-bodyo have already been setup with people buying the same.
