One UP native arrested in narcotics raid

Panaji: In a drug bust case, Mandrem Police have arrested an individual for possession of narcotics. The raid, conducted on Friday, at Madhalawada, Arambol, resulted in the apprehension of Shahid, son of Alishan, aged 45, a resident of Sabitnagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.


According to SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, Shahid was found in possession of 600 grams of Ganja. The police have registered a case against him under Section 20 (b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act 1985. 


The operation was led by PI Sherif Jaques and included PSI Jugal Divkar, PSI Paresh Kale, PSI Pravin Shimepuruskar, and police constables Vijay Gaikwad, Mallesh Joodi, Rajesh Shirgaonkar, and Sarvesh Mandrekar from Mandrem Police Station.


Further investigation is ongoing under the supervision of SP North Akshat Kaushal, IPS, and SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi.
