‘Our Glamorous Goa’ - a Book of 55 poems was released by Bernedita on May 24.
In her poems, she expresses her appreciation for the everlasting natural beauty and culture which prevails in our sunny state of Goa.
Her quest has always been to highlight the perpetual grace that Goa holds deep within its bosom as the rivers and its tributaries, the large coastline and its seashores all traverse through the valleys and plains making Goa so attractive and appealing. She says that she always feels proud of her motherland.
In her present poem book, she has also emphasised international topics like the Ukraine War which has become a global concern for world safety and peace.
Bernedita has also written a eulogy Poem dedicated to the late Dr Manjunath Dessai – a Goan Cardiac surgeon who has saved many people’s lives during his tenure at the GMC.
She has also written a Poem for Lata Mangeshkar for her contribution to Indian Music which is unforgettable as her songs will forever linger on the lips of everyone.
Her other two previous Poem books titled: ‘Come to Our Goa’ and ‘Waves of Enchantment in Goa’ have also focused on defining the charisma of Goa.
Bernedita states that Poetry has been a part of the syllabus and literature of every educated person either at school or at college level but no one wants to accept poetry as the most meaningful expression and as a work of art through words as it gives insight and inspiration to the thought process as when poems are shared with the readers, they, in turn, develop and derive their own delight and amusement.
In summing up her poetic journey, Bernedita comments: “who has not read poems of Shakespeare or William Wordsworth in their syllabus or lifetime. Hence every poem is a masterpiece of a poet as it is an art painted by words and verses”.
