SANGUEM
The feast of Our Lady of Piety Chapel Uguem was celebrated with great pomp, gaiety and religious fervour at Uguem Sanguem on Sunday November 10.
Fr Joseph Anthony Fernandes was the main celebrant for the High Mass. In his homily Fr Fernandes spoke on this year's liturgical theme 'Go, proclaim the good news'.
Fr Fernandes highlighted the importance of having a personal Bible just like we all like to have our personal belongings. He said that in addition to the reading of daily scripture on daily basis, there is an instant need to read and reflect on the scripture in the Bible.
Fr Fernandes was accompanied by Parish Priest Our Lady of Miracles Church Sanguem Fr Romeo Dsilva, Fr Constancio Mendes, Fr Jowett, Fr Caitano Colaco, Fr Pascoal Fernandes and Chaplain Our Lady of Piety Chapel Uguem Fr Ivo Fernandes.
The feast mass was attended by a large number of Parishioners from Uguem. Chaplain Fr Ivo Fernandes thanked Fr Joseph Anthony Fernandes all the Priests and Pilar Sisters for taking part in the festive celebrations. A special mention was made for efforts put in by Fr Fredroy Rodrigues for preparing the Choir for the feast mass. A brass band under the leadership of Leo Gomes presented lively music before and after the feast mass.
