Panaji: In one of the biggest drug busts in Goa, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Goa Police arrested a non-Goan from Anjuna and seized a massive haul of drugs including 1,825 LSD blotters valued at Rs 1.1 crore. The LSD blotters itself are valued at Rs Rs 91 lakhs as the raid was conducted in an apartment late Monday night.
ANC claims the raid is the largest seizure of LSD -popular party drugs among youths - by Goa Police till date.
The arrested man, whose name had been withheld by the ANC had been living in Goa for several years and allegedly operated a nationwide drug supply network, sending LSD and other drugs to customers across India, mostly linked to the party scene in major cities.
"He would receive drugs hidden in items like books and photo frames via courier, and then distribute them using the same method," the ANC official said.
The ANC sleuths had been monitoring the accused for a month, carefully tracking his activities.
This is the fifth drug bust by the ANC in the past 12 days, bringing the total amount of drugs seized to Rs 1.25 crore. The entire raid was supervised by PI ANC Sajith Pillai under Dy SP ANC Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC
