Saligao MLA Kedar Naik has stated that an over head water tank at Gautam Hotel, which will resolve the water issues in Sangolda and Pilerne, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on January 26.
“This issue was pending for the last 20 years and residents in this area were facing lots of hardships as this area is at a higher altitude,” said Naik.
He was speaking at Bella Vista in Sangolda after launching the work to construct drainage from Shantinagar to Bella Vista lane 4 at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh. Zilla Panchayat member Sandeep Bandodkar, panch members Jelisha Tulaskar, Avinash Naik, Vilma Nazareth and locals were present on the occasion.
The MLA further mentioned that a new Panchayat Ghar cannot be constructed at the existing Sangolda Panchayat office as the width is very less.
“Hence, the panchayat has proposed another place near the football ground at Sangolda. The panchayat has acquired the land and the land-conversion process is underway. Once this process is completed, the proposal will be sent to the State government for the construction of a Panchayat Ghar,” said Naik.
Panch Member Jelisha Tulaskar said the construction of drainage at Bella Vista was of utmost importance as during rains, the rainwater would flow down and enter into houses in the area.
“There was demand from residents for the construction of drainage on priority basis,” said Tulaskar.
ZP member Sandeep Bandodkar and panch member Avinash Naik also spoke on the occasion.
