South Goa BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo is literally on a temple run in the constituency, visiting temples in every Assembly segment during her interactions with party karyakartas ahead of the May 7 Lok Sabha poll.

Since she kicked off her campaign for the Lok Sabha poll last week, Pallavi has not stopped visiting the temples during her itinerary.

She began her campaign from the port town of Vasco by seeking blessings of Lord Damodar. Since then, Pallavi has been seeking divine blessings for her success in the ensuing electoral battle.

During her visit to the Assembly segments at Ponda and Shiroda, Pallavi with party leaders and voters in tow kicked off her campaign after seeking divine blessings.

The situation was no different when she entered Salcete. Pallavi offered the sacred coconut at Margao’s Pimpalkatta, the seat of the presiding deity, Lord Dambab in the presence of party state president Sadanand Tanavade, Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and others. She also visited the Lord Damodar Temple at the Linga in Fatorda to offer the sacred coconut. As per the tradition, candidates seeking blessing of Lord Dambab at the Linga-Fatorda also lit candles at the adjacent St Francis Xavier Chapel and Pallavi was no exception as she led the party leaders and worker to offer prayers at the Chapel.

Sunday saw Pallavi in Quepem constituency and again literally on the temple run. Starting with a visit to the Quittolkarin Temple at Naqueri-Quittol, she along with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Minister Subhash Faldesai, former  Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, ex-Dy. CM Chandrakant Kavlekar and ex-MP Narendra Sawaikar later  descended at temple village of Fatorpa, where she sought divine blessings from Shree Shantadurga Kunkallikarin and Shree Shantadurga Fatarpekarin.

She concluded her tour of Quepem constituency by visiting the Shree Shantadurga Ballikarin Temple  before an interaction with the party workers at the Temple hall.

Pallavi along with the BJP leadership later headed to the famous Zambaulim Temple, which is bracing up for the Lord Dambab Gulal on April 2.

Political observers say the Temple run by the BJP South Goa candidate appears to be a well calculate and planned strategy by the party leadership ahead of the campaign. “Totally new to the BJP, it is apparent that the BJP want to introduce and connect its candidate to their karyakartas across the constituency with a visit to the Temple. Not only is the candidate seeking divine blessings for her success, but it may help in connecting with the grass root workers”, commented a political observer.
