The Parra Gram Sabha has passed its annual budget, prioritising healthcare, education and security for the village.

For the first time, the village panchayat has allocated funds specifically for healthcare initiatives.

“In healthcare, we aim to organise the maximum number of health camps and outreach programmes for the general public. This is the first time we have made a budgetary provision for healthcare,” said Daniel Lobo, the sarpanch of Parra.

The education sector has also received a boost, with increased grants for government primary schools.

“We want our youngsters to develop critical thinking skills and go beyond just book knowledge,” Lobo added.

Additionally, the panchayat is set to introduce a booklet that will be distributed to every household in the village.

“This will serve as a one-stop source of information about Parra and essential details for residents,” the sarpanch stated.

In the area of sports, provisions have been made to support local sports development, particularly for a local football club that trains children from the age of six.

Security enhancements are also a key focus of the budget, with the panchayat deciding to install CCTV cameras at the entry and exit points of each ward.
