VASCO:
Dabolim Airport Police station on Wednesday registered an offence under Section 287 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against a passenger Gaddam Srinivas( 45 ) a resident of Bhiknoor, Andra Pradesh.
Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh said that the police received a complaint of Prajakta Gawas, Assistant Manager of Security, Inter Globe Aviation Limited (Indigo), Goa.
"One passenger namely Gaddam Srinivas, who was travelling on seat no 20 D, in flight number 6E984, of Indigo Airlines flight from Hyderabad to Goa, lit a cigarette when the aircraft was airborne. The aforesaid passenger had lit a cigarette with the help of match box in LAV D (Washroom) due to which the smoke alarm started buzzing, the said passenger immediately flushed the cigarette in LAV D (Washroom), thereby causing panic in the minds of the passengers." Said Shaikh
Investigation is in progress with PSI, Prathamesh Palkar.
