Saying that the world is open with full of opportunities, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday said that students should avail the Manohar Parrikar scholarship scheme and other schemes if they want to study in the best educational institutions abroad.

“There are opportunities galore for Goan students not just in Goa, but in India and the whole world. The world is open with full of opportunities. The future of Indian students is bright,” he said, while addressing students at the felicitation programme organised by Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj here in the city on Sunday.

He said deserving students should not even think about funding of their foreign education, saying the Manohar Parrikar scholarship scheme, besides other schemes will take care of their education abroad. “The education field is now open with a host of opportunities. If we do not grab them, you will lose the opportunities. Apart from careers such as medicine, teaching and engineering, the youth should pursue career in investment bankers, financial planners, etc. This is the fast growing and best fields,” he added.

President of Akhil Gomantak Kshatriya Maratha Samaj, Suhas Fal Desai made a fervent plea to the students to excel in education. 

Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai, MLAs Ulhas Tuenkar, Rajesh Faldesai, Chandrakant Shetye, besides former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar were amongst those who were present for the function.
