The State administration has invoked prohibitory orders near the Goa Legislative Assembly at Porvorim in view of the three-day Budget session, which begins on Monday.
As per information shared by the Department of Information & Publicity, the District Superintendent of Police, North District has promulgated that no person or class of persons shall convene or collect as an assembly, shall take out any procession or stage any demonstration on the road, street or thoroughfare nor shall hold a public meeting.
“Except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the licence issued by the undersigned. Every person or class of persons intending to convene or collect such assembly and take out processions/ demonstrations individually, collectively or otherwise must apply to the undersigned for a license well in advance. However, in no case, procession, morcha, rally, dharna, etc. shall be allowed within the radius of 500 metres around the Assembly Complex at Porvorim and the area under Panaji Police Station,” it said.
This order shall be in force in the Porvorim and Panaji police stations jurisdiction from March 24-26 till the end of the assembly session.
