Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo continued to taunt his government by claiming that public issues would not be solved merely by events like Sarkar Tumchya Dari, especially since there are many issues still pending in government offices.
He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the campaign office of his wife and Parra Sarpanch Delilah Lobo at Marna-Siolim on Saturday in the presence of various sarpanchas and panchas of various panchayats from Siolim constituency.
"Many will try to divide people in the name of religion. I request the people of Siolim to vote for leaders who uphold humanity,” said Lobo.
“Public issues will not be solved merely by organising programmes like Sarkar Tumchya Dari. The focus should be on doing the work in a timely manner. There are many issues still pending in government offices. In the last five years, the administration and the Legislative Assembly have not been functioning properly,” said Lobo.
Claiming that Siolim constituency did not experience development in the last 25 years, Lobo said if Delilah is elected, they would complete these pending works in the next five years.
"Our focus will be on providing basic facilities and also making it easier to obtain loans for women groups and self-owned businesses. Real development is about providing job opportunities to the unemployed, providing scholarships to students, providing uninterrupted power and water supply and better roads to people. We have done this in the Calangute constituency," Lobo added. Delilah expressed confidence that she would be elected with the support of people in Siolim constituency.
